This is me:-

Lincolnshire based singer and songwriter.

Like so many people, I have always had a love of music.  It inspires so many emotions and can be used to enhance just about any situation.  At the start of every day I used to wake up singing as a child, this gradually lessened as I grew older but I never lost my love and have always enjoyed listening and performing a very wide range of music.  I owe my appreciation of Classical music to my Father and my enjoyment of Country music to my Mother.  I inherited a lot of great 60's and 70's music from my sister Mira when I was 11 which carried me through to the 80's when I discovered my own likes and dislikes.

When living in Somerset I enjoyed such influences as The Eagles - their harmonies, The Pogues - their enthusiasm and liveliness, Big Country - their soulfulness, Creedence Clearwater Revival - my love for Bayou music, the list is endless but these are my main influences.  I used to sing in a band when I was 18 and we did mostly rockabilly covers, which was a twist on my usual genres.

Having moved to Lincolnshire, after a while I was invited to join a local band

"Witt-Less", sadly no longer together. More recently I sing with the band "Broomstick", mainly based in and around the Louth area and my husband Brian performs miracles as our sound manager.

I have always dabbled at song writing, finding it a very cathartic experience and it has helped me through many difficult times in my life.  These last few years I have become more focused and have tried to produce pieces that I think others may also enjoy.  My songs range from soft and gentle, healing melodies to upbeat quirky lifestyle tracks.

Some people can be forgiven for assuming that you cant do much with a Ukulele, but I beg to differ.  It can be a very expressive instrument and can be played in many ways to produce various different effects and it is my instrument of choice when composing.
